So you're already good at winning business! But the rigors of competition make consistent performance a constant challenge. And it's very easy to get entrenched in the norms and practices of your own industry and market.

Why is it that the best athletes undertake more training and professional development than the lesser performers? Surely they don't need it as much.

What they realise is that when it comes to skills, you don't stop at understanding. Mastery comes from practice. Practicing what works, and changing what doesn't. Knowing the difference is hard to tell when you are looking at yourself, especially when you are getting that good. Which one of us can honestly say that we see ourselves as we truly are?

A sales coach is like a personal trainer. Someone who knows the sport of selling. Who has achieved mastery themselves. Who can help you identify the finer points of your strengths and weaknesses, and show you ways to work on them so that you continue to improve your own game.

PS On occasion we have been called on to do remedial coaching with a view to establishing whether a person should be retained or dismissed. This can lead to a dramatic turnaround in the performance of an individual where a particular weakness is discovered and overcome, which can be good news for all concerned.
